Yogi Berra Receives Painting From Bronxville Gallery

February 7, 2008 – Bronxville art gallery owner Dean Lombardo and artist Graig Kreindler presented New York baseball legend Yogi Berra with a commissioned painting for his permanent museum collection on Jan. 29 in Montclair, N.J. The painting is of the Oct. 8, 1956, “Perfect Game” where Berra jumps into the arms of pitcher Don Larsen. Lombardo of Objects & Images Inc., a Pondfield Road gallery, says: “We delivered the painting … and luckily were able to spend a good amount of time talking with Yogi, hearing stories about his career, Italian food and traditions. Here is one of the most famous living baseball icons, and he acted like he was your longtime neighbor coming over for a chat. After spending over an hour with him, you felt as if you had known him for years.” The gallery is working on a backlog of private commissions that extend into 2009
